Sticky Situation takes place in a world where information on human psychology is like gold. So, Mold, Pixie, Glue, Tonic, Scratch, and Rainy find themselves amidst one of the more cruel experiments: a killing game. Which seems to all be facilitated by the mysterious Solo.Robots not unlike Solo himself have overtaken humanity, and require humanity’s weaknesses to retain control. They subject humans to various experiments that test the mind. They learn the emotions, changes, and violence that people bring out in each other. This killing game the cast partakes in is the first of its kind. The hope is a game with such high stakes will advance a new robot’s intellect faster. Solo is the chosen bot to learn through this game. The contestants have their memories erased and placed into the game. However, a “mastermind” must be selected to assist in Solo’s growth into autonomy.A particular contestant is selected for this role, because of his general laid back attitude and lower empathy. Although he is not evil by any means, the theory was he could handle having blood on his hands better than the other contestants.

The first to crack under the pressure of the game was Scratch the Ultimate E-girl. Full of passion and desperate for adoration, she decides she needs to take the life of another contestant for clout. If she posts their death and then escapes from the game she’s sure to get 10 million likes! The one she decided would thrust her into internet stardom was

Rainy the Ultimate Rockstar. Rainy could be described as goofy and ditzy, but her music career is nothing to scoff at. Although Rainy can’t remember much, she remembers her biggest passion. She could not let Scratch succeed in killing her. She still had so much to do, a tour to complete. She retaliates and is ultimately eliminated for being Scratch’s killer. This left the cast with only
Glue the Ultimate Scrapbooker who is a moody young man with a notable sense of pessimism. He did his best to try to help, but struggled to help expose Rainy in the first chapter. He makes an unexpected friend (or maybe more) that motivates him to keep going. He acts like he is much cooler and badass than he actually is, which was what attracted the attention of

Mold the Ultimate Thespian. Mold can be described as a “jokester” covered in layers of irony. However, if you try to dig deeper into him as a person he recoils. His nonchalant attitude in the first trial annoyed most of his fellow contestants. All except one. Alongside being captivated by Glue, he has a fondness towards

Pixie the Ultimate Vocalist. The hero of the story, Pixie, although nervous, has strong conviction. The stress is often put upon her shoulders to help her and her fellow contestants survive each trial. She carried the heavy burden of piecing together the events of the first trial. Losing two friends in a short time took a toll on Pixie. Her heartbreak isn’t helped by the death of

Tonic the Ultimate Occultist. A friendly and sassy individual despite their talent. They had done their best to help the others in the events of the first trial. Which makes what happened to them more tragic.Tonic’s unfortunate demise at the hands of Glue stemmed from a secret exchange. Mold revealed himself to be the mastermind. Glue was fed the idea that he and Mold could escape together if he killed and got away with it. Which caught the attention of

Solo. The robotic facilitator of the entire operation. He follows Mold’s orders. Although he is always watching… waiting. To assume he solely takes orders without a mind of his own could be a dangerous assumption. The more he observes, the more he evolves. All of this comes together within the song.
Epilogue
Twitter Thread #2, written by Moldapartment
The trial is over.
Having put together the truth behind Tonic’s death, Pixie voted for Glue. Per their plan, Mold and Glue voted for Pixie. What they all didn’t know is that Solo, through his observation of Mold, had created an invisible rule for this trial.Solo was programmed to observe and moderate the game with the condition that he follow Mold’s orders as part of the experiment. The high stakes and emotions of the game, however, pushed Solo towards rapidly developing autonomy. This let him act beyond his original programming.Solo noticed Mold was trying to rig the game in his favor. This was unacceptable. A clear violation of the rules given to Mold. This angered him. Newfound anger, similar to the one felt by the humans in the experiment– proof of his sentience and autonomy.Pixie’s vote, Solo decided, is the only one that mattered in this trial. If Pixie voted the correct contestant, it was over. There could only be two survivors, and Pixie took the first spot. Mold couldn’t accept this outcome.Solo was supposed to listen to him, right? He could still save Glue if he commanded it. However, his words seemed to fall on deaf ears. It was time for someone to die. However, to everyone’s shock, the gavel fell upon Mold instead of Glue. His rigging of the game was unacceptable. Playing favorites was against the rules, and he was guilty. It was not lost on Solo that he himself was playing favorites, as he had grown rather fond of Pixie. He maintained, however, these contradictions were evidence of his autonomy.Mold, although afraid, felt some sort of peace knowing Glue would live. He was strapped in a chair and sent to his death: a garbage compactor. He somberly waved goodbye to Pixie and Glue. Maybe, he hoped, he could meet them again in a better life. After watching Mold die, Pixie and Glue were the “winners”. Pixie through her sheer willpower, and Glue through sacrifice and love. Pixie felt empowered to keep going. She had to keep living for the sake of her lost friends.Glue, however, became catatonic. The person he killed for was dead. He and Pixie’s psychological outcomes couldn’t be more different. Solo took greater interest in Pixie’s– he had taken notice of her stronger resolve. He offered Pixie a deal, the first command transmitted to him from the bots outside. She would either join him and help facilitate future experiments like Mold had before, or she would be sent back to the human holding cell to be cycled again into another experiment.Pixie took the former offer, whereas Glue was sent back to the cell. Mind to be wiped, to be experimented on again. Pixie would work alongside Solo for the next four years. He and his superiors continued to analyze her psyche as she continued to facilitate experiments.Pixie slowly began to lose herself. Though initially a ray of light, working alongside the bots dimmed any hope she had of changing her world’s fate. With time, she grew apathetic, cold, and willing to get blood on her hands. The first game with Pixie had shown great success in advancing Solo’s coding compared to other experiment types. Since then, the bots have focused on moderating killing games. When offered to become the “mastermind” of the newest killing game, Pixie resignedly accepted.Pixie entered this new game. Amongst the large crowd of fresh meat, she spots a familiar face: Glue. As usual, Glue had his memories wiped and he did not remember her. He looked horrible. Years of having your brain picked will do that to you, she supposed. What she did not expect was seeing another familiar face. The robot chosen to learn through this game, Duet, bore a striking resemblance to Mold. For the first time in years, Pixie felt disgusted and mortified. However, she couldn’t dwell on this fact. The cast was set, and it was time for the game to begin.

Executions
Twitter Thread #3, written by Moldapartment
While writing out the lore, the topic of executions came up. Obviously there are none in the song as that wouldn’t make much sense. So, we thought of hypothetical executions for each contestant for fun!
───────
Tonic the Ultimate Occultist is ushered into a dark room with only a spotlight illuminating the center. A rather uninviting table stands alone in the center bearing only an ominous deck of Tarot cards. Tonic reaches out to take the deck apprehensively.Tonic knew enough to deduce that whichever card they happened to pull from the deck would be a hint to their demise. They then noticed an ouija board sitting close by…perhaps a spirit from a previous game could be called upon for help? They placed the planchette on the board and began spelling out the question: Are you there? The piece moves on its own, slowly spelling out the word: “yes”.The cards have multiple colored tags on their corners as well as symbols that were unusual…a puzzle, they figure. Tonic took a deep breath, hands shaking as they asked another question.“Does the blue tag mean the card is reversed?” the board slowly answered “yes”. They continue in a flurry of inquiries, hoping to gain enough information to avoid the worst possible outcome, stalling for what felt like an infinite amount of time as they felt eyes burn into them. After a perceived eternity, the board drags Tonic’s hands in entirely new directions, no longer spelling out the familiar word. The board gives a chilling command: “Choose.” No questions could get Tonic out of this now, their time was up and they felt a tingle in their spine…an overwhelming horror, evident on their face: no matter what they chose, they were going to die.A purple tag caught Tonic’s eye, as it was the only one in the entire deck. They turned it over and upon reading, closed their eyes in resignation. A rope slowly lowered from the ceiling and a collar snapped around Tonic’s neck. Before they could say anything, the floor beneath them dropped, snapping their neck instantaneously. The lonely card previously held between Tonic’s fingers floated down the pit like a fallen leaf, in peaceful yet morbid tandem to the swaying body above. The Hanged Man fluttered quietly into the unknown.
───────
Rainy the Ultimate Rockstar had been exposed to her peers as the late Scratch’s killer. A collar snaps around her neck and drags her somewhere familiar… a stage. A guitar lays in front of where she harshly lands. She nervously picks it up.A giant screen flickers to life, displaying a tutorial UI for a familiar guitar-based rhythm game. Rainy is directed to receive a 100% score on her first and only attempt. Rainy sighed in relief, taking on a look of confidence…this should be easy.A mock crowd began to grow as she played, growing larger in size by the second. As the beholding mass progressed, so too did the dissatisfaction growing with it. The sound of booing grew louder and louder as weapons and objects flew out of the “crowd” toward Rainy.Rainy dodged the items flying toward the to the best of her ability, almost turning it into an impromptu dance of sorts. As she hit the final note, breathing heavily and sweat stinging her eyes, she slowly looks up, expecting to see her 100%.The light and confidence in her eyes faded: 99%.The crowd is furious. They begin throwing chairs, shaking the stage and stomping their feet. Rainy, battered and bruised, could only throw her hands up to protect her face. The impact of angry feet and heavy objects shook the stage, knocking Rainy to her knees.A loose stagelight is dislodged by the ruckus, creaking loudly before a metal snap is heard. Rainy looks up as the light illuminating her becomes smaller and smaller before crushing her under its weight. The spotlight she loved had become her tomb.
───────
Scratch the Ultimate E-girl is faced with the internet in a frenzy over her murdering Rainy. What more can she do except boot up the camera? Against her will, she is forced to LIVESTREAM a public apology. She is dropped into a barren bedroom. A fake dog and ukulele in the back solidifying that this is a humiliation ritual. The tiled floor below her felt strangely warm… a large recording device rises up and starts streaming. No edits, no time to script, and no time to waste. The poll begins: Do they Forgive Or Kill Scratch? She begins by trying to appeal to their emotions, expressing how remorseful she is. The majority vote starts favoring the Kill option. She tries a different strategy, attempting to seem relatable. She had no other option but to kill Rainy, right? The audience remained unswayed. The votes came flooding in. Scratch is fated to be killed. Her, alongside her channel, will be deleted forever. The witch hunters will burn her for the immoral witch she is.A pole rises from the floor. Cords ensnare Scratch and tie her tightly to the pole. Fire begins to rise up from the floor and Scratch is burned alive.
───────
Pixie the Ultimate Vocalist sits solemnly in a faux recording booth made from scraps upon the stage. She can see the dried blood that used to be Rainy’s to her left. A table with three wine glasses to her right. She realizes… her task is to break the three glasses… with her voice alone. Perhaps she might get to live? Without a second thought she begins belting out the highest note she can. One shatters immediately, but the others are more stubborn. She raises her pitch. It’s uncomfortable, but she has to do it. She has to push her limits. She continues to raise pitch even through the pain. She can feel her vocal chords straining, becoming more and more damaged. Her efforts and pain were rewarded by another glass breaking. She just needed the last to burst. Tearing her throat and voice to shreds, she belts as high as she can. Blue crept across her face as she took in one final deep breath, releasing a piercing note that was her highest yet… she hears a shattering crack. She was elated, but then it hit her. The broken shards of the wine glasses lay in front of her, yet still, the cracking continued . She looked up. A glass ceiling shattering above her, ginormous shards of glass downpouring like rain. She had been tricked. She is impaled by hundreds of sharp, thick shards. Her body eventually stopped twitching, signalling her end.
───────
Mold the Ultimate Thespian is given a script and thrown onto the stage. He looks at the title, “Julius Caesar”. His tired expression deepens. He knows exactly where this is going. What the hell. If he is to die on the stage, why not make it memorable? He did what he does best and adorned a mask of indifference. A mask that’s protected him thus far.He throws the script to the side almost insulted. He’s the Ultimate Thespian afterall, of course he knows what's to come. He needs no script for this performance. He confidently looked amongst the crowd. A plethora of automatons and, unsurprisingly, the remaining contestants. He heard the creaking of gears behind him. He smirked. The “traitors” were here. They all encircled him, some begging on their knees. He waved them off arrogantly as Caesar had done. His brows furrowed and a small bead of sweat traveled down his face. The dubbed “assassin” automaton approaches Mold from behind, a predicted blade in hand.Trying to stay calm, he can feel the blade close to his neck. He took a deep breath and smiled before hearing a robotic voice cry, “Hands! Speak for me!”He flinched, feeling the knife drive into his neck. The other automatons begin joining the attack. Through the pain, he continues his performance in character, as Caesar.A supposedly familiar figure appears from the crowd in front of Mold. Mouse ears slovenly atop its cold, metallic head. Mold finally lets tears fall from his eyes and weakly asks, “Et tu, Brute?”The mob continued their onslaught. All Mold could think of in his last moments was “Will Glue continue fighting without him?” The idea of Glue giving up plagued his mind as his final, heartbreaking thought before he passed. When the crowd had cleared, they all stared down at Mold’s corpse. He had succumbed to his wounds. They turn towards the audience, bowing as the curtain falls.
───────
Glue the Ultimate Scrapbooker awakes on a conveyor belt. He looks ahead, seeing a thick, blue glue coating the area ahead of him. He looks down, realizing that he is standing on the only “dry” spot.Behind him, he hears a horrible sound. A pulverizing crack. He turns and sees a contraption, similar to a giant mouse trap creaking open and snapping shut at his heels. The belt below him shakes and begins to move. He could not hide the sheer terror he felt in that moment. Panicked, he turned and ran as fast as he could.Clambering through the glued path, he struggled, pulling himself forward and fighting the inevitable. He fought, stumbling over and over. The cycle continued as he became more and more desperate. His clothes were ripped, his skin broken. Worst of all, he was growing tired. There was no light at the end of this tunnel… He knew what was coming. All that was pushing him forward was the fact he was afraid to die.Eventually, he stumbled for the last time. He laid on his stomach, drenched in glue. He couldn’t fight any longer. He heard the snapping behind him growing closer and closer. Tears fell down his cheeks. He hoped Mold would not be too lonely without him. There was a final bloody snap and with that, Glue never moved again.
Fun Facts

To end off the fun Sticky Situation tidbits and lore we have fun facts about each character! Please enjoy these three fun facts about each character. ♥Tonic’s preferred method of “reading people’s fortune” is looking into a cup of grape juice. They like to host weekly karaoke tea parties that usually include one or two paranormal guests. Whenever they contact a demon, they will leave them an IOU. What will they use it for? Who knows.Pixie’s specific breed of dog is a paperanian (papillion & pomeranian mix)! She specializes in theatrical singing, but she also loves singing pop and rock music. She also is the shortest member of the sticky situation crew at a whopping 5'1", her breed contributes to that.Glue has a knack for getting himself stuck… in anything. Glue, gum, quicksand, a room with no key, you name it. His favorite foods are cheese and cracker party plates and alcohol. Glue is unaware of how big of a loser he is, he genuinely thinks he is cool and badass. Everyone else thinks he’s a dork.
Although he will listen to almost anything, Mold’s favorite genre of music is 2010s pop love and lust songs. He struggles to be genuine with people, which includes flirting. He will attempt to play it off as a joke. He loves ragebaiting those around him by being unbearingly cringe. Pixie was the biggest victim of this amongst the song’s cast.Despite what would be assumed, Solo has a noticeable personality. He just doesn’t talk much. He can look at any font and tell you what it is, which is not something that was inherently programmed into him. He also became quite fond of music because of Rainy and Pixie and now creates his own.Rainy holds the Guinness world record for longest tour ever. There is almost no one that hasn’t heard her music. She also has a ginormous frisbee collection (all frisbees she stole from others by catching them first). Rainy always performs with her most beloved guitar named Paisley.Scratch has a long list of controversies that she managed to bury due to her ultimate status. Despite being very much sought after, Scratch has only ever had one situationship which left her heartbroken. She can effortlessly make any video go viral. Go ahead, ask her to help with yours.
